Autopilot.

Humanity gets used to things, adapts. Adaptation... It is like self-learning, synonimously. Like a self-learning computer program.
The program was initially supposed to make our lives easier. It's not a man that seeks easy solutions. Notice that inner desires and ideas are rarely easy, they are often quite crazy and larger-than-life. It is the mind that pulls us to the easy path.
On the one hand, this is useful, this makes our life easier. Automating some aspects of life (like walking or driving) apparently gives us more free time, and a learned experience helps us make sense and alanyze things easier and faster.
On the other hand, the servant and friend has kidnapped our routine. Our attention and consciousness. "Click" is a good new movie that shows well the nature of human "autopilot". When he does something, talks, makes decisions, he is simply daydreaming. He himself is not there. The autopilot is. The autopilot pulls people into most decisions, career choices, interactions with other people, basicall almost everything. The autopilot makes us subservient to the system, because it is the system that created the autopilot.
Just like in life, it is difficult to survive in an aeroplane without an autopilot. But you mustn't hand over the control entirely. Because, firstly, you'll forget how to fly yourself then.
And secondly, the autopilot will then decide where you will fly. Not you.
Actually, not even the autopilot, but the team of flight operators in the control tower.

Человечество привыкло и адаптировалось. Адаптировалось... То есть, "самообучилось", некий синоним адаптации. Как компьютерная самообучающаяся программа.
Программа изначально предназначалась для облегчения нашей жизни. Не человек ищет легкие пути. Заметьте, душу всегда тянет на "безбашенность" которую далеко не всегда назовешь легкой. На легкость "тянет" наш разум.
С одной стороны это полезно, это облегчает нашу жизнь. Автоматизация некоторых аспектов (напримет процесс хождения или вождения) дает больше свободного времени, а выученный опыт позволяет легче и быстрее "проанализировать" ситуацию.
С другой стороны, слуга и друг "захватил" наши будни. Наше внимание и сознание. Хороший новый фильм - "Клик" - отлично показывает явление человеческого "автопилота". Когда он что-то делает, говорит, решает, но при этом как буд-то спит. Его самого там нет. Есть "автопилот". Который в жизни толкает нас к большинству наших действий и решений, таких как выбор карьеры или манера общения. Автопилот подчиняет нас системе, потому что система создала автопилот.
Как и в самолетах, в жизни без автопилота сложно прожить. Но при этом нельзя отдавать ему штурвал полностью. Иначе, во-первых, сам разучишься летать.
А во-вторых, автопилот сам будет решать, куда тебе лететь. Он, не ты.
Вернее даже не он, а команда диспечеров в вышке.
